The Ca++ dependent protein Calcineurin (CN) controls one of the key signalling pathways in the activation of lymphocytes. In spite of the importance of the Ca++/CN/NFAT signalling pathway in the activation, differentiation and apoptosis of lymphocytes relatively little is known how immunoreceptor signals result in the activation of CN and NFAT factors.
