The aim of the Prevention Project Dunkelfeld (PPD) is to improve child protection by preventing child sexual abuse. For this purpose a research project was designed in which a respective treatment program was to be developed and evaluated. The target group consisted of men who had not yet sexually abused a child but feared they could do so, men who had sexually abused a child but were unknown to the justice system and feared to re-offend as well as men with a respective criminal record who feared to re-offend- provided they were no longer under the supervision of the justice system.
