In the past, research on the elderly has focused on their decreasing physical and cognitive abilities. In contrast, the project is concerned with the development of work-related socio-emotional competences of the elderly. Compared to younger employees older employees have better strategies to cope with conflicts and stress, are better in emotion regulation to meet emotional work demands such as being friendly to customers and have more positive attitudes towards work, the organization and the customers.
