This project concerns the development of a novel process for applying thin film coatings possessing multifunctional properties such as corrosion protection, improved fluidic properties and antimicrobial properties or photocatalytic activity. These multifunctional coatings will be applied via a hybrid process whereby nanoparticle-filled siloxane polymer liquids are crosslinked and etched or coated in a low pressure plasma process.
