The partner institutes in Kiel and Rome are planning to establish and foster a European network of scholars and practitioners in order to examine the role of the European Union (EU) in the current wider reform process of the United Nations (UN). In this context, the EU's foreign policy concept of "effective multilateralism" could play a decisive role.
