Photobiological processes provide valuable templates for bio-nanotechnological applications. Mimicking these processes requires a complete understanding of the underlying molecular dynamics. Because the timescales of such ultra-fast reactions are difficult to access experimentally, molecular dynamics simulations constitute an alternative route. The simulation results will not only deepen our understanding, but also open the way for re-designing the system properties.
