The highly diverse and endemic amphibians and reptiles of Madagascar are suitable indicators to determine conservation priorities within this island and constitute an important economic resource for the country especially in terms of ecotouristic flagship species. In the first three-year project we have aimed to provide biological baseline data to contribute to a more efficient conservation of these animals.
