The project goal is to build and test a nano microphone that utilizes a 1 nm thick carbon nanomembrane (CNM), made by polymerizing self-assembled monolayers, as a sensitive diaphragm that converts pressure changes into electrical signals. For this task the molecular CNMs and electronic circuits will be integrated into a functional nano electro-mechanical system (NEMS).
