The project is aimed at understanding two important and interrelated aspects of the physics of compact stars: the generation of gravitational waves and the state of matter at very high densities. A part of the project is concerned with the study of the phases of color-superconducting matter in the interior of compact stars. The key focus will be on the description of the topological defects (vortices) in such phases, and their dynamics and interactions with the ambient matter.
