Zusammenfassung

Uzbekistan is a country with high potential for utilization of solar energy for power generation. But renewable energy is currently underrepresented in power generation. Natural gas dominates based on Uzbekistan's gas resources. Furthermore, 44 % of the thermal power plants are older than 30 years with urgent need of modernisation or replacement. Some of them are already operated with reduced capacity. The idea is to combine the modernisation with a solar thermal upgrading of such power plants.
