The aim of this project is the production of surface structures on cylinder running surfaces of internal combustion engines through an optimized manufacturing technology. Accordingly, the possibilities of ultrasonic machining during the precision turning process will be determined for the generation of defined lubricant storage on tribologically loaded surfaces.
