Zusammenfassung
This project aims to understand the Early Pleistocene local environments in Southern Caucasus as prerequisites for the first appearance of humans in this area. It focuses on vegetation and climate reconstructions based on plant fossils in an area and for a time span (2 to 1 Ma) known to be inhabited by early humans. Furthermore, GIS analyses will provide a spatial interpretation of the data.
