Zusammenfassung

This project aims to investigate the material evidence for the commemoration of the Late Bronze Age (ca. 1550-1200 BCE) during the Iron Age period in the Levant (ca. 1200-586 BCE). It starts with the evidence that surfaced in recent excavations at Tel Hazor in northern Israel, which brought to light several Iron-Age loci of commemoration of Bronze-Age artifacts and ruins. Crawford intends to evaluate the relationship between cultic places and the urban (or rural) environments in which they were located to try to see whether the "ruincult" is a broader phenomenon that has been overlooke...
