The goal of the study is to uncover if, and to what extent, the GDR state security service was active in West-German universities; furthermore it asks by what means was this carried out and what results did those activities lead to. The project explores four different universities: the Westfälische Wilhelms-University Münster, the University Bremen, the University Kassel, and the Christian-Albrechts-University Kiel.
