Research in African contexts has shown the yet underutilized potential of Organic Municipal Waste composting. For Côte d'Ivoire, pilot initiatives (2011-2013) in Yamoussoukro (Volkswagen Foundation funds) and Tiassalé (NCCR North-South funds) have shown feasibility and acceptance of OMSW composting, if e stakeholders are involved.
