Ethiopia is the largest recipient of food aid in the world (Solomon et al., 2014). Existing persistent food insecurity is mainly because of: recurrent drought, low productivity, high postharvest loses (PHLs) and poor marketing opportunities. As a strategy to overcome pre-harvest problems efforts of breeding and agronomic practices have been implemented to increase production by 10%.
