Zusammenfassung

The objective of the project is to design a storage system(granary) that may be used for drying and storage of grain as well as improve hygiene in maize handling, remove drudgery in moving the maize in and out of the store, reduce the effect of adverse climate and prevent aflatoxin contamination. The proposed hybrid drying unit consists of a solar collector, to heat the drying air and a solid desiccant to reduce the relative humidity of the air before it is used for drying.
