Adsorption on activated carbon finds growing use as an effective and economical process for purifying liquids by separating low concentrations of adsorbable molecules from liquids in applications such as de-colorization of sugar solutions, removal of taste and odour from potable water, and the removal of dissolved organics from industrial and municipal waste streams.
