The conventional method used to dispose of rice and coffee husks is burning in open fields which has negative environmental impacts. Decades of progress in polymer engineering has shown extensively the potential of using agricultural residues as natural fillers in the polymer matrix. This project therefore seeks to develop bio-composite polymers using rice and coffee husks as filler materials in polypropylene and polyethylene.
