Zusammenfassung

The project adopts a complex archaeometric approach to characterise the pottery of communities that lived in the forest steppe zone and steppe zone to the north of the Black Sea between the Dniester and Dnieper rivers between 1100 and 600 BC. Multiple analytical methods will be used: XRF spectroscopy, thin-section analysis, micro-tomographic analysis and MGR analysis, to be conducted on over 500 sherds. The main focus of investigation is on the contacts and exchange relations among the groups with different material cultural remains in the two vegetation zones north of the Black Sea.
