A modern materials characterisation technique called atom probe tomography (APT) provides an atomic-scale view of the distribution of elements in 3D, and is particularly suited to analyse interfaces with performances beyond any other technique. Interfaces between two media play a huge role on the properties of systems in materials science and biology.
