The project is aiming for the realization of more complex prototypical spintronic devices and for a deeper understanding of the microscopic basis of the CISS effect. In the first funding period it could be shown for helicene that the sign of the spin polarization is connected to the handedness of the molecules. Furthermore, a simple way to achieve optically and electrically induced local magnetic memory was established and the magnetization without current or magnetic field could be demonstrated.
