The project aims to provide methods for intelligent norm-based reasoning in AI systems, i.e. methods that enable AI systems to comply not only with precise legal rules, but also with ethical principles and values, according to practical rationality, fairness, and justice. To capture the richness of legal and moral thinking, patterns for normative reasoning need to be extracted and modeled using a variety of formal methods.
