Zusammenfassung
Understanding how human brain works is a primordial goal of mankind to gain control over it. However, current models of brain function are even theoretically not sufficient to explain high dense computation performed by the neural tissue, requiring a very new perspective or a mechanism on neuronal coding. This project proposes to use the emerging concept of spintronics, where information is encoded in electron (or an ion) spin in addition to the fundamental charge, to study if brain represents information via spins (quantum) of fluctuating metal ions during neurotransmission.
