In recent years gem-difluoroalkenes have received considerable interests due to their fascinating electronic properties. The objective of the project is dedicated to the development of a synthetic access to gem-difluoroalkenes based on easily available bulk chemicals.Special emphasize is devoted to sterical constrained gem-difluoroalkenes, which were hardly prepared previously. Those synthesised compounds will be employed following arylationand cylisation reaction, providing an efficient approach to manifold polycyclic (hetero-) aromatic compounds.
