Compact stars in isolation and in binaries represent a unique class of stellar objects, which allow testing the properties of matter and gravity under extreme conditions not accessible in terrestrial laboratories. Recent observation of gravitational waves from a neutron-star binary merger provides new insights and constitutes a breakthrough at the front of multi-messenger astrophysics. This project aims to provide a comprehensive study of those transport coefficients necessary for dissipative hydrodynamics and magneto-hydrodynamics studies of such events.
