Because of their uniqueness in the university landscape of Germany and Central Europe, Caucasus Studies play a special role at the University of Jena. The same applies to the MA and BA programs in Caucasus Studies. Caucasus Studies are interdisciplinary and located at the interface of linguistics, literary studies and social sciences such as political science, history, cultural studies, and anthropology.
