Zusammenfassung

R-loop is a stable three stranded nucleic acid structure, which when unresolved, leads to chromosomal instability. Despite the well-recognized genotoxic consequence of R-loops, high throughput studies exploring their incidence in response to increased oncogene or decreased tumor suppressor expression are missing. This project intends to determine whether R-loop formation is a common pathological event leading to oncogenic transformation following altered onco-protein or tumor suppressor protein expression.
