Novel complex three-dimensional (3D) human cell cultures like organoids are rapidly advancing in their development. They can bridge the gap between standard human 2D cell culture and in vivo animal studies. One of the limitations of organoids are actually not the culture systems or cells itself but rather the analysis tools to study the underlying processes continuously.
