With a view to the current and future pandemics, test procedures for the infection status of a person, which are easily adaptable to new pathogens, are urgently needed. The aim of the project is to set up a table-top imaging platform in the soft X-ray range, based on cutting-edge laser technology, for the fast and direct detection of viruses based on their nanoscale structural features (morphology).
