From the almost unlimited number of possible high-entropy alloys (HEAs) only a few are known as they consist of five or more elements in near equiatomic ratios. HEAs draw high scientific interest in recent years as some of them have already shown paradigm-changing properties from overcoming strength-ductility limits to new electrocatalysis relying on polyelemental surface sites.
