Zusammenfassung

The project investigates the (re)production of wealth in an intergenerational context on the basis of family interviews. This perspective brings three advantages. First, it enables a temporal view of wealth by looking at processes of status dynamics. Second, wealth is captured not only as the economic situation of individuals, but also as a field of social relations. In this way, the focus is also on attitudes about society that frame behaviors, habitualized forms of self-positioning, and strategies of families that guide and promote status reproduction.
