Currently, more than half of the wealth in most OECD countries is not earned but inherited. The central question of the interdisciplinary research project is: How and in what way can the different narratives explain the (re)production of wealth in Germany? Building on the concept of the "deserving rich", the research project will identify discourses, instruments and institutional arrangements of wealth genesis and examine the arguments of "deserved" and "undeserved" wealth.
