Both historically and today, LGBTIQ* movements are exposed to right-wing populist and far-right attacks. This project understands current and historical struggles for LGBTIQ* rights as questions of democratization and investigates in what form these movements have contributed to democratization processes in Germany and Austria. Researchers and practitioners from the fields of history, political science, archives, political education and theater make up the project's transdisciplinary team.
