Zusammenfassung

Amid increasing fragmentation and polarization along religious and identity lines in Germany, this project addresses the urgent need for pluralistic civic education. The team consists of political scientists, specialists in civic education, and practitioners in civic education and interreligious dialogue. The team will use participatory and action research to examine the conditions for pro-democratic religious education and develop concepts and formats for fostering religious literacy and competence among political educators and students.
