The current generation of soft robots is distinguished by the incorporation of soft materials actuators and sensors. However, they are constrained by the use of traditional rigid control units, which impairs their performance in real, unstructured environments. The project team presents a novel approach that integrates control functions inspired by the embodied intelligence of biological organisms directly into soft robots.
