Films are one of the main areas of application for plastics, especially for packaging, and are currently recycled in relatively small quantities, especially for low-grade applications. Therefore, a new and environmentally optimized recycling scheme for the recycling of plastic films is being developed in this project. For improved recycling, plastic polymers are broken down into oligomers using enzymes, followed by a process in which these parts are converted into high-quality products.
