Widely used construction materials based on cement, wood-polymer-composites, or plaster boards are far from being circular, using significant resources and energy while producing non-recyclable waste at the end of life. The project explores the use of abundantly available bio-based waste streams and the conversion by a sustainable and mild process into circular construction materials that meet mechanical and fire protection requirements while maintaining resource-efficient lightweight properties.
