Zusammenfassung

Currently there is no industrial recycling route for mixed textile waste other than thermal recycling, i.e. incineration. The aim of this research project is to develop a continuous chemical recycling process for used mixed textile fibers using a twin-screw extruder. The project team will start from existing approaches for the depolymerization of polyethylene terephthalate (PET), such as bottle flakes or post-industrial streams.
