Engaging films on topics related to the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) have the potential to inform millions of people, encourage them to support the SDGs and promote positive transformations. However, this potential of the film medium has not yet been fully exploited. Films often do not reach their audience and encounter structural obstacles in the German film landscape. The aim of the project is to investigate what these obstacles are and how they can be overcome so that these films can develop their social impact.
