The nitrogen-vacancy (NV) color center in diamond is a promising candidate both for quantum assisted sensing and quantum information processing. This solid-state spin system features remarkable properties as, e.g., optical polarizability, high-fidelity spin manipulation through microwaves, very long coherence times, and all-optical spin readout - all at room temperature. In this project we focus on the study of the fundamental spin dynamics occurring in nanodiamonds and nanofabricated structures in diamond.
