For the examination of coronary blood vessels, intravascular methods combined with imaging technologies are state of the art. However, ultrasonic methods which are used to obtain information about the tissue can only be used externally, up to now. The commonly used piezo-electric components cannot be sufficiently miniaturized for the insertion into blood vessels. The Laser Zentrum Hannover e.V.
